It's probably more in the style of EA SimCity reboot but with real features, not this jokish product they tried to sell. i will definitely continue to play it as it's fun. I liked what i tested so far of Skylines. I think you know already the answer mate!įor realistic esthetics & detailed cities keep up building in XL / XXL. So, what do you guys think? Am I the only one who cares about these things?Īnd is Cities Skylines recommendable for a person that only wants to build very realistic and detailled cities, not working, economic constructs? So I think there is a lot to be expected in the future. On the other hand it seems to have very good potential according to modding. I just cannot imagine, based on what I have seen by now, that it is possible in Cities Skylines to build hyper realistic, detailed cities like this example: Link Can you place single buildings from a list in Cities Skylines? Can you fill gaps with plazas, concrete or construction sites? Can you build massive farms to form the countryside around your city? These are some things I havent seen in any of the reviews, maybe you can tell me.Īlso it doesnt seem to be possible to get the camera on street level? It seems a little bit "cartoon-ish", like its not supposed to look very realistic, more like a toy model city.įurthermore, it seems to me like the building tools are more limited in comparison to a modded version of CXL. What I somehow dont like is the graphics. Also the economics and related stuff seem to work good.Ĭities Skylines however seems to lack those categories I was talking about before (Maybe I am wrong, as I said, my experience of the game only comes from Youtube reviews and lets plays) It seems to make everything correct that former Citysims have done wrong. Now, Cities Skylines has excellent reviews. Whenever I build a city i spend a certain long amount of time just "driving" through my streets, to see what I can improve and how realistic everything looks like. Also, which is very important for me (it might sound stupid): You can get the camera to streetlevel and actually walk through your city. What I do like about Cities XL is that the graphics are quite good, and with proper mods you can have an almost unlimited amount of possibilites to build a city with. Thats why I dont know about the depth that Cities XL is supposed to lack. I only want to build a city with unlimited resources, just like I imagine it. When I play a Citysim, im not interested in building an economically working city from scratch what so ever. That doesnt affect me for a simple reason: I play City Simulations exclusively in sandbox mode. I know that Cities XL had terrible ratings and critics, not even talking about Cities XXL. There are a few questions and things that bother me about it. I've already watched several lets plays and showcases about the game and its features and it does look great. Tony R, AKA Cool_Z, AKA Zed68 for his tremendous help.Īlso Sheltoe and BaskB, who also helped beta test and got me through some tough times.Īlso Azurespecter, Michae95l, Ized for support.Cities Skylines is now released and it gets very high and good ratings by the users. This works as a metro train with "Train and Train station Converter Mod" Tested with 7 trains at a time in a busy city with 2 shuttle lines as well as Beta tested. Though a heavier model than default trains, it runs very smoothly. They can also run regional or however you like. Then use IPT to control which liveries service your lines with precision.īut you don’t have to use them as I suggested. Make sure all trains on the same line are at the same speed including all trailers. In AVO, set the brakes and acceleration to. I strongly suggest using these trains on their own inner citty lines seperate from the regional ones and use Advanced Vehicle Options along with Improved Public Transportation However, the default speed is very unrealistic and you would not appreciate the liveries as intended. I left these trains at the default 24 speed so it does not disrupt any regional train line traffic. More liveries and train models are on the way. I plan to release a paint kit for any other artists who whould like to personalize their own trains. This is the Cities Skylines Edition hand painted tags and throwups with the names of some staff members as a token of thanks to Colossal Order and Paradox. CITIES SKYLINES MODS NO REGIONAL TRAINS SERIES
My aim with this series is to bring that diversity to train systems in Cities Skylines starting with the R22 model of the SMEE fleet now retired and sadly most cars are sitting on the bottom of the Atlantic. The New York City subway system used to have a huge diversity of train car models from clean to graffiti filled and grimey. NYC_R22_Cities Skylines Edition by MrMaison
